Lasya College of Fine Arts
Lasya College of Fine Arts, approved by the Government of Kerala, a unit of Lasya Kalakshethra, established in 2011 was a Community college of Kannur University. Later in 2021 Lasya College of Fine Arts was converted into an Arts &Science College by the Government of Kerala. The college is situated in the Lasya Kalakshethra campus, Pilathara, Kannur district, Kerala State in India. The college offers degree courses in Bharathanatyam and Carnatic Music (Vocal) and PG course in Bharathanatyam.
Here, students can live and be together with the teachers in Lasya campus. All the merits of ‘Gurukulam system’ are retained with care in Lasya Campus and students are able to imbibe our rich culture in the most natural way.
Though classical art forms are learnt in the traditional way, modern technological advancements are not neglected. Lasya Kalakshethra maintains facilities such as a well-equipped computer lab, Audio and Video Digital recording studio, indoor auditorium, and an open air theatre. There are hostel facilities for women students and a canteen with vegetarian food managed by Lasya Kalakshethra. These are being utilized by the students of the college. The performance wing of Kalakshethra travel across the country giving performances, as well as renowned artists and performers from all over the country present programmes frequently in the campus. Also we provide Yoga training for the students with physiology and phycology of yoga including asanas, pranayama and meditations classes. This provides students with the opportunity to share directly the rich experience of our classical heritage.
